RIVERSTONE Dolphins – Rouse Hill Times Article
RSL Swimming Club is gearing up to celebrate 25 years of serving local families with its biggest season yet.
Operating at Riverstone Swimming Centre, Riverstone Dolphins have carved out a reputation as a relaxed, fun and friendly club that puts as much emphasis on the enjoyment of the sport as it does on winning races.
“We’re not quite the same as a normal race club,” president Michael Tuohy said.
“We place as big of an emphasis on sportsmanship as we do on having club champions. We have a good social atmosphere as well. Even though it can get cold at training on Thursday nights, parents really enjoy being there.”
The club has plenty of events to make the most of the milestone 2018-19 season.
“Riverstone will be hosting our first Riverstone Summer Swim Carnival as part of the Blacktown City Games next February,” Tuohy said.
“We’re expecting somewhere between 800 and 1000 people on the day so that will be a really big event for the club and Riverstone itself.
“We will also be starting squad classes this year for the first time, which will provide a huge benefit for our kids and a really good foundation for our swimmers to improve their times.
“The 25th anniversary is a big milestone for this club and there is a real excitement within the club at the moment.”
