Riverstone, NSW – The Riverstone Dolphins RSL Youth Swimming Club has launched its 32nd season with strong membership growth, significant community support and an expanded program of athlete development opportunities.
With more than 200 swimmers expected to take part throughout the 2026–27 swimming season, the club continues to provide opportunities for swimmers of all ages and abilities — from young children experiencing organised swimming for the first time to adults pursuing fitness, competition and personal achievement.
A major boost this season has been unprecedented sponsorship support from local businesses, organisations and community partners. This funding has enabled the club to provide highly subsidised stroke correction programs and squad training, helping make quality coaching more accessible to local families.
Club President Craig Miller said the Riverstone Dolphins continue to thrive because of the dedication of volunteers, coaches, families and community supporters.
“As we launch our 32nd season, we’re incredibly proud of what the Riverstone Dolphins represent for our community. Swimming is one of Australia’s most important life skills, but our club provides much more than swimming lessons and competition. We build confidence, resilience, friendships and healthy lifestyles that stay with our members for life.”
“The remarkable sponsorship support we’ve received this season has allowed us to significantly reduce costs for specialised stroke correction and squad programs. This means more young people can access high-quality coaching and continue their development in a welcoming, community-focused environment.”
The Riverstone Dolphins 2026–27 season will also feature specialised athlete development clinics, including sessions with accomplished open water swimmer Tayla Martin, giving members the opportunity to learn from experienced athletes and explore different areas of swimming.
Mr Miller said these clinics create opportunities that inspire the next generation of swimmers.
“Having athletes like Tayla share their knowledge, experiences and passion for the sport gives our young swimmers a unique opportunity to learn from someone who has competed at a high level. These experiences broaden horizons and help our athletes dream big.”
The club is proud to call Riverstone Swimming Centre home and acknowledged the ongoing support of Blacktown City Council in maintaining and delivering aquatic services for local families.
Member for Riverstone, Warren Kirby MP, congratulated the club on reaching another significant milestone.
“For 32 seasons, the Riverstone Dolphins have provided local families with an outstanding sporting and community organisation that develops young people both in and out of the pool. The club’s commitment to participation, inclusion and skill development continues to make a positive contribution to our growing region.”
“The Riverstone Dolphins demonstrate what can be achieved when volunteers, families, coaches and community supporters work together to create opportunities for the next generation.”
Blacktown City Mayor Brad Bunting also praised the club’s longstanding contribution to swimming and community sport.
“The Riverstone Dolphins has been part of the local community since 1994, and it is terrific to see the club begin its 32nd season with more than 200 swimmers,” Mayor Bunting said.
“This season, swimmers will also benefit from $261,000 in Council improvements to the centre, making it more accessible, comfortable and better equipped for local families.
“The Dolphins club gives swimmers of all ages the chance to be active, build their confidence in the water and form lasting friendships. It is a wonderful example of what a strong community sporting club can bring to its local area.”
The Riverstone Dolphins will continue its focus on affordable, accessible and high-quality swimming opportunities throughout the 2026–27 season, helping swimmers learn, compete and develop in a supportive community environment.
